still training
so much to learn and paper-work for everything
I'm going to be one of 2 supervisors in the building
tons of responsibilities
monthly reports, schedules, time sheets, money, stats, ref, children's services, class visits and all that fun stuff
i'll try not to get too overwhelmed
tmrw i'll meet to sit in on an outreach program and story-time
need all the help i can get since it looks like i'll be the one doing children's
programs in my library
maybe i'll just bring my mini amp and "school house rock" them to death
ever notice how short kids are?
(note to self) save the skirts and dresses for days off
talked to marnie for a bit
we have much to catch up on
we will hang on sat.
she has a date set for the wedding(early aug.) everything has been moving so fast this year

Got the big promotion
the one that changes everything
all grown up (yikes) and it sucks cuz I really loved the new staff I've been working with
figures I'd only be there for 2 months
went to vegas for new year
Tina told me that Priscilla and a bunch of crazy grls were going up too and that i should give her a call
and yup they r crazy
had so much fun (you know "what happens in vegas...)
Moni broke her foot(dork) so she couldn't come out with us to celebrate the prmtion and Tina and I decided to go to the cave instead of deal with the the traffic and parking in oldtown pas (where Priscilla and friends were)
good vibe at the cave and many free drinks
a very merry crowd of good ol drunks
Javier met us there and got along great with T
it's going to suck not having someone to talk to at work
well at least not someone who can carry on a conversation about "saw-blade codpieces, ass2mouth, and 21 jump st. I knew he was my peeps about 5 min after mtng him Tina and I agree that he is so Bobby, we will have to all hang out have a talk fest cuz that's what we do
what else...
oh yeah shit
Ruby got married...married? yes MARRIED!(gotta lv 16cndls)
and Marnie got engaged
and I... ok, well I just made out with some stupid boys but
I saw Borat, and Clerks 2 and that's close right

So I'm on my way to Marnie's BBQ and I get a call from Mel saying hurry up and get here. I get there when the sun goes down of course and I'm happy to see all of the beautiful people especially Marn, Rob, Mel,and Kahilliana(she's so awesome and thoughtful and ready with the tequila) and one beer later, Mel's trying to sweet talk me into leaving and going to the Key Club to see some band she promised she would see. I tell her that I came for Marnie's BBQ and people were just arriving that I wanted to hang out with and jam (being that Marnie had a p.a. & a little stage) so of course I can't go I don't even want to go and I tell her that Marnie won't allow it, but then she did. O.K. she seems sweet but she knows if she wants to, she could talk me into anything(just like on tour) I don't know how she does it. She calls me Coco puff and bats her glittery eyes and sprays her butter cream perfume all over and ta-da... or maybe it's all the alcohol she attempts to feed me?
Anyway, she says we're going to be gone for an hour tops but of course 3 or 4 hours later we get back to the BBQ and I'm the one in trouble. Well we got to see the band and we ran into Lylah a band we played with and hung out with in El Paso on tour(yeah, we had an interesting night out with them on tour that hangover lasted days) At least I heard a little of Peter and Blaze and played a bit with one of Robs friends before the cops came and shut it down just like the old days and I even was lucky enough to share the bed with Marnie and Rob on Marnie's side of course. Now that's a friend. I even got a little morning cuddle and rub until she realized Rob was on the other side. Thanks for the lovin, it was nicer than having a huge glass of cold water dumped on my head like she did once thinking she was shutting off her alarm clock. Not a good way to wake. Shit, I didn't realize how late it was. I'm off to take care of some business and then do some drinking at the Fox & Hound.

marnie worked so they couldn't come
but rob and marn had a visit at a local bar a few days later
talked to kevin
the new kevin that is
since the other one isn't talking to me anymore
see what you get for not putting out fag
anyway band kevin is going through some hard times
hope things get better for him
makes me glad to be single
though i'm on the look out for a non english speaking 18 year old
the dumber the better ha ha

friday night/sat morn interesting
fox and hound was packed
the band was good and girls were dancing on what there was of a dance floor
interesting gab
then marnie was suddenly a little tipsy
i don't know when it happened
one minute she was bringing drinks to the table
the next she was feeling no pain
so i resigned myself to the fact that it was going to be a long night
and that i was in it for the long haul
several of us went to the dog house after to jam or whatever
doug and peter were there usual charming/stoned selves
then the next thing i knew it was 5:30am
so marnie and i did what any clear thinking adults would do
we went to erics house to hang out
of course i was sober and tired by this time (don't drink and drive)
so i figured i would let eric take care of marnie
since he is one of her bestest friends
but instead he ducked out
but good news
as fate would have it
this guy kevin was there
i met him the week b4
marn introduced me as the bass player she was talking about
and said he was super talented and thought we might hit it off musically
i didn't think much of it at the time
just figured it was just talk
but there he was tired and ready to leave erics
he said he was happy to run into me and that he was serious about the whole thing and gave me the low down about his fab drummer and his influences and all the rest
turns out that he did some tracks with a great old friend of mine that i've known since i was 12
he is an amazing musician and has always inspired me and has always been super
supportive
just bringing him up got my attention
he's someone whose stamp of approval carries allot of weight with me
even though i haven't seen him in years
so i left marnie in capable hands and went to burn a cd and take a quick listen to his stuff
happy to say that it has the flavor of lots of my fav bands
and he's excited and open to my contribution as a bass player/backing vocals
and his drummer has been playing forever and is apparently a drum god
thank you god
and manny's producing there stuff?
iv'e been listening to the three tracks he gave me

are you kidding me?
so we talked on the phone for an hour or two
and he's actually a good guy
parties like a rockstar but loves his wife and friends and good music and his family and has a job
so the three of us are gonna get together and talk and have a listen
to stuff we've done stuff we're influenced by & where we hope to go with it
much better than renting a rehearsal space and auditioning or whatever
i think it gives more insight to how things might work even b4 plugging in
and it doesn't cost a thing
i'm hopeful
even if it doesn't work out
at least i'll have some good new music to listen to

we were on tour in san jose
and i was having all these bad dreams about disasters
i guess the winnie was parked by some construction workers who had their radio
on and i was incorporating the news in my sleep
rayshelle who was already up after showering at someones house
strolls in like nothings happened and says "oh yeah all these bombs are killing everyone all over the place" and gives the metal sign (idiot)
we had no t.v. and were trying to find out what the hell was going on
we were completely disconnected and in the dark so we tried to call our loved ones but of course the phone lines were going crazy
it was an awful day

finally some time off
i am so tired
the labor day sale kicked my ass
so far these are my work high-lights
put my knee in pee
some kid fell and got some broken glass in his knee
another kid scraped under his eye
a women had the runs on the floor
some crazy lady tried to pick a fight with me about a 99 cent over ring
and a baby roach hit me in the head when i tried to shake out some fabric off the floor
ahhhhhh the glamorous life of a rock star
but i got some bitchn stuff half off
as far as the customers are concerned
the store rules
one of the best thrift shops around
but the poor employees ouch
on the up side
lots of cute boys (and a few girls) frequent the place
but i barely have time to notice

i can't believe tinas son max is playing out at clubs

I've been in work world
got my 1st check
lost 5 pounds
gained 2 blisters
tons of new(old) clothes
and made some new friends
so many musicians
the BOTR subject came up
"that's you? so you're a big rock star" yeah that's why I'm working here
been working like crazy but still find the time to write
this weekend is going to be insane I work like 100 hours including labor day we are having an insane sale
they tell me the customers shred the store apart
and we have to come in costume to promote our new halloween merch
i am the only one excited about halloween arriving so early
we also have to dress for a whole week in oct.
make every day halloween
just have to make it through tuesday
then i'll have 2 days off in a row (apparently this is rare at my job)
I'm gonna visit marn at her work to blow of some steam and hopefully jam
with peter

oh yeah marn and her boy are going strong
he's flying her to some fab place this weekend for lunch

my feet are killing me
i guess it's probably not the smartest thing to work 9 hrs on your feet
in big kiss boots (hahaha no i'm not that rock)
my new job is at a thrift shop the size of a huge department store
it's full time and i was expecting part time
but i am getting a workout
the people are cool
i noticed they've employed a few musicians and i get a 50% discount
the co. works with non-profit organizations and constantly puts out new merch
it's one of the coolest thrift shops i've ever been to out here
but i can't shop while i work and that's hard
but i went in on my day off and took advantage of my discount
i found the best shoes in the world
vintage beige maryjanes w/3" wood heel in my size
i realize boys aren't as spooked by the mjs as the knee high platform boots
more nice girl less scary rock star ya think?

i am still dead on the inside

went on my big job interview with the county library monday
it went well
if i get it i'll be making more money than ever
